Thousands participate in Sopore militant's funeral, clashes erupt | KNO

Sopore, March 22 (KNO) : Massive clashes erupted in Sopore area today following funeral of a local militant killed in Baramulla gunfight yesterday. According to KNO correspondent thousands participated in funeral of Amir Rasool Kaboo, a resident of Arampora Sopore. Massive throng was witnessed in his funeral procession. Amid Pro Freedom, pro Pakistan and pro Islam sloganeering Kaboo was laid to rest in arampora graveyard. Following funeral massive clashes broke out in the area between protesters and forces. "Protesters resorted to intense stone pelting which was retaliated with tear gas shelling by forces," locals said, adding that the situation in the area is tense. Reports said that district administration has imposed restrictions in the area.(KNO)
